Caring in Our Community

LCHPS is creating a bridge between community members looking to volunteer to Lake Country people in need of support.

COVID-19 Community Response

Care-Mongering in Lake Country

During the temporary closure of the Lake Country Health Resource Centre and suspension of our people-to-people programs, LCHPS staff are modifying services. With your support, we hope to reach out and help connect local elderly and immunocompromised individuals who may be feeling overwhelmed and alone during this crisis to volunteers willing to help.

Volunteers will provide connections to the outer-world over the phone, share vital contacts to support-lines about available COVID-19 resources or even help arrange or deliver groceries. It is important to remember that the community we are working to support may not have family or friends close-by or access to the internet in their homes. LCHPS is working to remove these barriers by helping to bridge volunteers to LC folks who are 65+ and/or immunocompromised and may be tentative to ask for help or not sure whom to turn to or trust.

Both recipients and volunteers can register by filling out the form below.

For more information, please contact or call 778 215 5247.

Our staff will respond as requests come in - your patience is appreciated.
